Tablet- should I, or should I stop being lazy and sort out the laptop?

I am pondering whether getting a tablet is a good idea or not. Basically, I envisage having a sort of media centre, where I can create a photobook, lurk on MN and Ravelry, create lists, listen to Spotify... and so on. At the moment, I do all this on the laptop, but it feels really clunky. We have some strange new Windows which I don't understand, the folder system is displeasing and a huge mess (our fault, I know), and the laptop tends to live in the dining room. I like the idea of something smaller which I can pick up and put down easily (I have a 9 month old), which is simple to use and more focused on what I want to do with it. The laptop can then be used for 'serious' things, like work.

Is the 'start again' approach a good one? Or shall I spend some time cleaning up the laptop so it isn't such a disaster zone? Does anyone have a tablet that they use this way? Is this just a waste of money?

I have both a laptop (Mac) and just got a iPad. The iPad is great for listening to songs, showing others pics etc. (You can also play Candy Crush on, so there are bad points). A friend has a Samsung Pad and finds it both convenient and great for reading books, songs etc..etc.
In summary, get a pad if you want convenience, just depends on how much you want to spend. Best of luck deciding...lol

I have a birthday coming up so could ask for it as a joint christmas present. I do like the convenience of it...
