HTC Desire S randomly turning off - help?!

I was assuming it was the battery dying since it doesn't do it while plugged in but surely if the battery was running down quickly then it'd show that on the battery symbol... Wouldn't it?! Hmm Contract runs until October but the battery is only covered for the first of the 2 years. Is it likely to be the battery, despite it never saying that it's getting low before turning off? I don't want to waste money buying a new battery if that's not the problem!

Lurking as mine does exactly the same, it's a pain in the arse isn't it?

Yup! Especially given that I could go into labour at any time! I can just see myself trying to call the MW & it dying before I can tell them who I am! I won't be leaving the house alone until the baby's out!

It occurred to me yesterday that DH has the same phone but not the same problem so we've swapped the batteries over & now just have to wait & see whose phone dies first!

Eek, it needs to be sorted then!
DH just looked up how to do a hard reboot on t'internet, we've done it and the phone looks and functions very differently now. Seems to be behaving itself today. Good luck.

Weirdly enough, both our phones seem to be functional since the battery switch! What's that all about?! Confused
