Starting a Blog- Advice

I would really like to start blogging but I have no idea where to start.
Can anyone help? I would like to know if there is a hosting web site I can use and how to acquire advertising?

You can use something like Blogger or Wordpress (my son recommends the latter).

This book is great and gives you everything you need to know about getting started with blogging.

Once you've chewed through that one, it's great to slowly introduce your brain to web coding. This book is super friendly and really useful. I got onto it from another Mumsnetter and loved it.
