iPad not autocorrecting - please help!

Hello lovely geeks!

PLease help, I have a new iPad (4th gen?) which isn't autocorrecting when I type, e.g double capitals, obvious spelling mistakes, in the same way that my iphone does.

In Settings I have auto correct etc switched on but nada.

Any help gratefully received! THank you.
