Hi

I am a new mummy living in the Medway area & am getting really down that I just cant find any like minded people to spend some time with. I am in a civil partnership & our son is 15 weeks old. As soon as people find out that our son has 2 mummy's they back off! Are there any other lesbian or gay parents out there???? God I hope so confused

Hi there mamma007

We don't live far from where you are moving to & are always looking to make new connections especially with like minded people. There are no groups that I know of which is why I started this link. However, as you can see her2mummies are trying to set one up which will be great. Please keep in contact!

Hi Mamma007.
We are expecting twin in July and live on Merseyside. I heard about Rainbow Families in Manchester but can't find any details on the net.
Any advice on how to make contact with them? We moved up North from Brighton 18months ago and havent found any other lesbian mothers up here yet!
Best of everything for the move btw grin

Hi there flatpackassemblyDiva, I just had a look at the website for rainbow families and it appears it's no longer in use, but if you email a friend of ours jaynemugglestone@yahoo.co.uk, she should be able to let you know when the rainbow families gang are next meeting up - it's a great group to be a part of! I'm pretty sure Jayne can hook you up! Good luck with the twins! Wow, you're not gonna be able to get out of the house, let alone get to social gatherings!!! Best of luck

Thanks so much mamm007. I will email and see if we can make contact. Yes, everyone keeps telling us that once they arrive we will consider getting time to have a shower to be a major treat let alone social gatherings!

It's odd to consider how much our lives will change and how little you can prepare yourselves for it. One friend with a new baby suggested waking yourself up every hour for 4 weeks as preparation but I think he was joking..confused

Dear her2mummies, I see you might be/have already set up a social gathering/group for gay mummies in the Kent area? I did try to email you on the angelswithsnipers address but it bounced back, would it be ok to add you on facebook? Many thanks

So...we've made the big move and we're here in Kent! Would be great to meet up with some other gay mums and their kids, anyone fancy getting together in a few weeks time, around Leeds Castle area?

Hi

we live in Tonbridge... anyone still checking this thread? We are going to go to a group that meets in East London but it would be great if there was something going on a little closer to home. We used to live in south west London and met up with a group called South London Lesbian Mums, which was great but it's a bit of trek getting to their meet-ups.

We have one little boy and would really like to make a bit of a network of 'families a bit like us'.

SO.... if anyone wants to meet up for coffee then email us:

Hi, Is anyone still checking this post. We are a lesbian couple with a 14 month old boy. We live in Sevenoaks at the moment... having trouble finding and meeting with other gay/lesbain parents. Would be interested in socialising, if anyone still interested?

Hello Kent parents,

We live in South East London a the moment (gay parents abound!) but are planning to move to Faversham or a nearby village with our nearly 5 year old. Our only reservation is how we will be received there as a gay family, particularly by local schools.

I'd particularly like to hear from JudeN how you find it in Faversham. We've gone and hung out at the playground in the recreation ground to try to get a sense of what the demographic is but am still unsure (apart from having gathered that it is very very white!).

And we'd love to come to a kent-gay-parents meet-up group if one is set up...

H,
I'm part of an action group focusing on bringing LGBT family and friends of the Kent and Medway area together. We have organised a free picnic event at the Vines in Rochester on the 1st of September from 1-3pm. There will be entertainment for kids and adults and will be a great opportunity to meet other LGBT family's. Hope to see you there, don't forget your picnic. For any other info contact us on the Facebook group, LGBT Kent and Medway action group where you'll find the flyer with all the details. Kelly x
