Recipe of the week

smithy's roasted beetroot: low-fat, dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free and generally nutritious and virtuous. This one-dish wonder is delicious and uses up some seasonal beets. What's not to like?

Hi

St Albans gay parents/parents to be has now formalised it's meeting schedule.

We are now meeting 1st Mon/Wed of each month alternating between Mon/Wed each month at 11am.

The next meetings are

Mon 7 Sept & then Wed 7 Oct

The plan for Mon 7 Sept is currently Willows farm http://www.willowsfarmvillage.com/ - kids over 2 are charged but there are often kids go free vouchers, for example they are on the back of parking tickets in radlett at the moment so keep your eyes peeled. I think the cost may be £7 an adult as it is outside peak time (peak is £11.50). There are good picnic areas so I would suggest those that can go club together to make a picnic we can share.

Let me know if you can make the meetings so we can look out for everyone.

UPDATE
Next meet is on Mon 7 Sept, 11am at Willows farm http://www.willowsfarmvillage.com/

I suggest we meet at the under 2's play area & chairs nearby. If you don't know Willows you can find this by taking the second left from the entrance (after guinea pig village), walk through the small animals area and the soft play is beyond. First section on the left is the under 2's bit. Older children can go off to the bigger parts whilst we wait if they can't pass for under 2's.

Please let me know if you're coming so we wait for you, and if you're going to be later, we can coordinate by phone, let me know.

There are good picnic areas (including indoors if necessary) so don't forget your packed lunch (and socks for soft play).

We had a great time at Willows farm today & are looking forward to the next meet.

By our "formula" for meeting (alternating the first Mon & Wed of a month) the next meeting is Wed 7 Oct and after that Mon 2 Nov.

It would be lovely to see as many people as possible so note the dates for your diary but also let me know if you think there is a better way to pick dates, I don't want to overorganise/exclude people but also want to minimise the effort involved in setting dates.

My suggestion for a venue is Big Space in Harpenden at 11am which is a nice clean soft play area. They have an under 3's area which catches most of the age ranges and would be a good place to meet up initially. There is the usual cafe etc for lunch. I picked up a flyer which suggests there are further activities for toddlers during the week too. The web page is below.

http://www.bigspace.biz/

As usual, do let me know if you're coming so I can look out for you and let anyone else that might be interested know the details.

Hi
Just wondered if the group is still meeting every month?
We have just moved to Hitchin from London, and want to network with other lesbian mums in Hertfordshire

It is -

The next meeting is Wed 3 Feb. 11am at Kidzone in Berkhamsted. http://www.thekidzone.co.uk/about/index.html

Unfortunately I can't make it - related to my IUI clinic appointments, sorry (but fingers crossed for me hey?). So it would be good if Icould get early confirmation of who's going so we can make sure everybody knows who to look out for.

The next meeting is Mon 1 March. I was wondering if anyone fanciedmaking it a lunchtime (12 or 12:30 start) meeting in St Albans, perhapsat Zizzi which is kid friendly or any other places you might suggest. Please let me know if

Hi

Thanks, I can't make 3rd Feb, and can only do Wednesdays, not Mondays, so would be interested in the group for April, which should be a Wednesday? Can you keep putting on updates, or let me know if I can email you directly?

Thanks

Hi chacha mum & others

I propose meeting at DJ Jungle next week (Mon 3 Mar). As promised we'll try an afternoon meeting at 2:30pm . Let me know if you're coming :-)

Next one is meant to be Wed 7th April - I can't make it, I was wondering about changing it to 14th April & going to Willows farm. Do people have a preference? We could keep it at 7th April if you wanted.

Hi guys,
Just joined, my partner and I would like to meet other lesbian mums.
My partner has a 5 year old and we are looking into adopting a 4 year old child. We would like to increase our circle of friends. We live in Elsree and loughton, and work in london. If you are interested in meeting for a coffee within the next couple of weeks...
we would like to hear from you.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the web address (URL) surrounded by [[ and ]]. So type [[http://www.mumsnet.com]] to display a link like www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page."
