Have a north facing wall on patio in need of livening up ...

It gets very little direct light ... but is not deeply shaded. At the moment it's just a brick wall about 1.5m high and DH is complaining he's sick of looking at it.

He wants something to add interest but also height so neighbours can't peer over the wall (we're on a hill so it's not as high from their side).

But we can't decide what to get. We have bamboo planted just beyond the patio so I think that might be nice in big pots ... then I thought about getting some nice climbers to grow in pots. But no idea what will grow if limited direct light ... if it gets past the height of the wall then obviously the top will get sun most of the day. Also thought about a weeping cherry blossom in a pot (not too big).

All ideas welcome (as I have none left!)

We planted a passionfruit climber on a north facing wall and within two months it had covered it nicely.
