Evergreen shrubs for pots, for north facing wall?

Would like to put shrubs in pots either side of our front door, but not sure what will grow there as there will be very little sunlight.
Would really prefer evergreen but not fussed about flowers.
Any suggestions?

Ferns perhaps? I am no expert but there are quite a lot of evergreen shade lovers I just don't know what they are called. My peace lily does well in almost total shade too.

box, holly including ones with little leaves that look a bit like box but darker and more dense, pyracantha (sorry spelling off today). Depends how big the pots are and how big you want them. hydrangea, osmanthus, sarcocca (xmas box, smells lovely in winter but to be honest a bit boring looking), some hebes. enough to be going on with?

Conifers. They're relatively cheap and you can buy them in interesting shapes. Box is also fine on a north facing wall and again, comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. Don't be tempted to buy bay trees. These need plenty of sunshine and whatever you choose, don't forget to water and feed them.

Thanks, thought about box but the smell reminds me of cat wee!!Was hoping to go for bay but didnt know how much sun they needed to do well.
COnifers possible but we have a whole huge hedge of them which I am trying to phase out so woudl rather avoid any more.
Will look at The other suggestions, osmanthus is a good idea, thanks.

The back of our house is North facing and we have two different Hebe's in pots, they have been there a couple of years and are very easy to look after.

Hebe's are fairly reasonably priced and because they are evergreen you don't have to do much with them. I hope you find something nice xx

Thanks leesmum, I really like Hebes as they usually have good foliage and flowers, will have a look at my local nursery.
