Does anyone know any shade loving climbers?

I have a nasty wall which I have attached trellis to and would like to plant a climber but it's totally in shade.

Any ideas?

there are some nice roses that prefer shade including my fave which is called Souvenir du Docteur Jamain. It is also Monty Don's favourite apparently, but it was my favourite first.

Honeysuckle and some types of clematis. Ask at your garden centre! Wouldn't go for ivy personally - -ours took over.

ivy takes over the world. if it ever gets any sun at all, honeysuckle, but be careful as some types get quite gigantic (depending on how high the wall). i tried clematis on our shady shed but it didnt thrive, they do need sun at the top usually

I've got some other clematis on a shady fence -

Polish Spirit (rampant and thriving)
Nelly Moser (best in shade because strong sun fades the flowers)
Cirrhosa Jingle Bells (ticking over nicely)
An alpina (can't remember which variety)
Mad Gran (grows 15 ft a year)

The shade quite suits them because the roots need to be cool.

Some roses will cope with a bit of shade - New Dawn grows quite well for me, although flowering is a bit sparse (may be due to neglect rather than shade per se)
