Too frosty to prune??

Please help. I'm a gardening novice. I've read that January is the month for pruning roses, apple trees and hazel. All of which we have in our garden.
I was planning on doing that today but it's so cold. Very heavy frost over night and forecast to continue.
Will pruning today damage those plants? Should I wait until it's a bit milder?
Thank you!!

Wait till milder if you can; otherwise there is a risk new shoots will start to grow, then be knocked back by a heavy frost.

Net curtains or horticultural fleece can be draped over vulnerable plants.
