Please help me identify and eradicate this pesky tiny spreading weed!

In the last couple of weeks this tiny plant has appeared in my garden. It's actually quite pretty between the paving stones but I've just realised that it's spreading into the lawn and taking over a couple of flower beds. It's fairly easy to remove from bare soil, just digging it out - it's got shallow roots, but I'm not sure what to do when it's so embedded in the grass and swamping established flowers. Any ideas?!

Two possibilities.

The most likely by far: it's Soleirolia soleirolii, also called mind-your-own business. It's quite persistent, so you have to keep going at it. Advice here: www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=348

Less likely possibility: it's the new introduction, Pratia pendunculata. Looks very very similar to the Soleirolia, but even harder to eradicate!. Unless you have adventurous gardeners either side of you, however, it's unlikely you'd have this - it's not common here yet. ..

Thank you so much. That's it. Am currently devising a plan. It's going to be my new obsession....

I've got this too. I clear it every year and it comes back the next year. I quite like the way it softens the path. However listening to GQT last week the advice given was to sell your house and leave it for someone else to deal with Shock
