Artificial grass?

I fear this may be hugely unpopular in this topic, but I'm considering getting artificial grass in our rear garden. Does anyone have any recent experience of fitting it or getting it fitted? In particular, has anyone tried the cheapo Home Bargains type?

Realistically, we can't afford to do what we want to with our garden this year so I'm considering a temporary fix this year to create somewhere safe for the kids to play. Using the cheap high street stuff I could probably transform our garden for about £200, but would it just be horrible?

Thanks!

Can't speak for the cheapo stuff as we went with Easigrass. We love it, soft, dries super quickly and green all year round. Does get very hot in the sun and give static shocks though!

My FILs friend owns a company which supplies and fits this - I wouldn't go for the cheap stuff. The good stuff looks very convincing and lasts decades with no maintenance. Also good if you have dogs and it isn't burnt by pee.

Aunt had her garden done and they loved it. Don't do cheap though.

We have friends who have their garden done and it is great. We thought about it for ours but apparently it is better on smaller expanses

Not that our garden is huge Grin
What I meant is that friend's garden has more borders and landscaping

Can anyone give me an idea of budget? 15ft X 30ft for the posh stuff?

Half my lawn is moss and has no light. This would be the 5th year I've turfed/seeded. Angry
