The leaves are turning yellow and falling off. I planted it in September so I'm not sure what it does each year yet. It looks sad though.

the ground underneath looks very dry and the non-yellow leaves dont look happy either
perhaps give it a bucket of water?

They don't, do they. I don't think the soil is dry, it's just wierd coloured topsoil. I've been keeping it all fairly well watered and it rained last night. I'll give it some more though. X

I suppose as it is young you could dig it up and inspect the roots and pot it in a well drained pot and nourish it a bit before replanting.

Thats if it doesnt respond to watering ie a fortnight or so. You could also lightly fork in some compost at the base

That's a good idea. I suppose it's possible there's an air pocket underneath it or something, or I've missed it when watering in favour of the smaller things.

Thank you.

Is it against your house wall ? If so , it might be too close and getting no rain because of the eaves

Or it could be a disease try looking under the leaves

It's the garage, but it's also near a fence, close to the corner. I wonder if it is massively in need of water, given the yellowness.

I did look under a leaf and wondered if it looked a bit furry/white dusty. I'll have a better look tomorrow at some more leaves.

Thank you!
