We are looking to have a greenhouse in our garden but im a bit unsure of which size to go for. Hubby wants a 8x6 but would a 6x6 be big enough?

Always go as big as you can realistically fit and afford.

Go for the 8x6....! It'll be big enough to have plants down both sides and across the back wall - the back wall part is sometimes a good place to grow something permanent and large/tall because you have the full height.
Check the height of door-frame etc, too.

Always bigger than you think, you WILL fill it!

Mine is 12 x 10 and my polytunnel is 15 x 9
trust me - get the biggest you possibly can afford as you WILL fill it!

And get a good one - mine is Robinsons - with toughened glass and LOTS of ventilation : we have automatic openers on the roof vents and I luff them.

And high enough to grow your tomatoes tall. Nice high shoulders.
