I have just taken delivery of some bare root roses, which I intend to give as thank you presents to my and DP's family at our wedding at the end of next month.
I need to put the roses into a deep pot, but I can't find anywhere that sells ones deep enough. I need pots that are around 30 cm deep, but they don't need to be more than about 15 cm or so diameter.
I know that pots like this exist because all the garden centres use them to sell their own potted roses, clematis etc, but the deepest ones I can find on line are about 20 cm deep.
Fortunately, I had a spare large pot/planter that was deep enough, which I have put the roses in for the time being, but I will need three pots so I can separate the plants to give as gifts.
Any ideas where I can get some from?
thanks
What a lovely and generous idea, Thistledew!
Have you tried a local nursery (rather than a mere garden centre)? They might have some pots to spare, if you explain what they are for.
Thanks LadyMud I will try that if I can't find anywhere on line to buy. I have been carefully avoiding any local garden centres since DP and I moved 2 1/2 years ago as we have been doing up the inside of our house, and as I can't do what I want to the garden until we have built the new shed that we need! I'm not sure where the best ones are in our area.
This is the rose I have ordered (our families do have big gardens -it's a bit of a monster size wise!).

Could you trim the roots a little?

Those tall thin pots are called Long Toms. Can't do links but if you google long tom pots you'll find stockists.
