Oddness over A Levels

Has anyone got experience of a teacher sending in A Level Coursework early? Son thought he was doing a mock, but the work was sent to OCR. Wasn't due to be sent till May! Teacher now says it can't be recalled, and therefore this will be his grade. OCR say the same.
Any ideas?

The teacher probably thought your son had finished the work. There is usually an earlier deadline set by the school for work to be submitted to them. Why did you son think he was doing a mock? There aren't usually mocks at A level

To be honest I would expect coursework to be done and dusted by now, so as to be able to focus on the exams.

I would also expect schools to send it in as soon as they had gathered it in. Why would they wait?

I would agree, except that the teacher gave them a date at the end of this month for their coursework, and told them that the exam was a mock so that they could review. Is really frustrating to know that the boy can/could do better but won't be able to. It's not just my son; the entire class was under the same impression!

Hmmm this sounds very odd to me. I teach a level with coursework - used to be with OCR but now with wjec.

How many students are there taking it?

We can submit our marks from 1 May to 15 May. Then a list of names appears on screen and we send those students' work off. If the class is under 11 then all get sent off but you still submit marks and get a list because until then you don't know who to send it to. It is sent to the moderator not directly to the exam board.

Which subject is it?
