hiya :-)

I am considering studying nursing at uni fulltime. have a baby boy who is 11months old at the moment. Does anyone know if i can get help with childcare costs? i am a single parent on benefits.

Also is this actually do-able? or would i be taking on too much? please advise!!!!

Yes, there's help towards your childcare costs http://www.sfengland.slc.co.uk/full-time-study/new-students/what%27s-available-in-201314/extra-financial-help/childcare-grant,-parents%27-learning-allowance-and-tax-credits.aspx

This is in addition to the maintenance loan, maintenance grant, and bursary from the university.

You can get up to 80% of childcare costs paid.

Go for it! Just remember it's a very demanding course, and you will be expected to do nights/days/weekends (sometimes in the same week) in different locations that might not be easy for you to access

good luck
