This site has some relevant discussions on distance learning.

If you have a specific job/career in mind, vocational courses might be the thing:
This site might have some ideas. Good luck with it: distance learning is not necessarily an easy option with other home distractions going on at the same time

My career plan is I have four set careers and plan on doing English Maths and Biology and then aiming for the subject I score highest in. If I score high in all 3 then ill go for my dream job. My plan is to get my A levels while my youngest dd is too young for school by the time I have done my A levels dd will be in school and I can get a degree in my best subject. Thanks for the links I will look at them now.

As you are retaking you will not get any government funding as you already have a Level 3 qualification.

As a mature student you might not need good grades.

Another option would be to take some OU units, which youmight get funding for, and then transfer them to your degree course.
