Statutory paternity pay for contractor

Hi,

My dp is a contractor. He has a limited company which he contracts through. He is employed by the company and the company contracts with his clients. This is a common set up in his field.

He has taken time off following the birth if our baby. Obviously no work means no pay. Is he entitled to any form of statutory paternity pay or benefit? If so, how would he claim it?
Many thanks

If he is employed by the limited company regardless of whether he owns it or not the company has to SPP. He should budget for this and sick pay before he takes dividend even though the employee is himself as the company has legal bare minimums for it's employees.
