Hello
I have managed to secure a great seminar delivery slot, it is sold out (eeek) full of my potential audience. It is being organised by a well known/respected 3rd party.
Question is. Do delegates expect a copy of the presentation? The marketing around it hasn't specified if they receive it. And as yet the 3rd party hasn't confirmed if they normally do that. Whilst well known in other areas, their event programme is a fairly new.
The reason I am questioning it, ideally I'd like to get hold of the data (giving delegates present a chance to opt out of me receiving their details) and send the pres after the event.
However, I am wondering if not having the slides in the event will annoy people and potentially do damage to "my" brand?
The event is fairly cheap - £99 for half a day - but evenso I think I'd like to have something to write on?
Thoughts?
Thanks

I tend to make sure that my slides contain 1 in 10 of the words I'll actually say
then do a handout of the slides with plenty of space for people to scribble notes of what you actually say
then they will really pay attention (rather than just reading)
and will keep your handout for reference...
cheap copier paper is fine

I always prefer to get the full version by email. Plus you'll be getting contact details as well.

Thanks both.
TalkinPeace2 I love you always have a logical and sensible tip/answer. Like the 1 in 10 idea.
Have thought that maybe we could offer printed and emailed copied - with extra bits added in order to tempt them to give their data. Also depends on organisers.
Thanks again.

I give abotu 50 talks a year all over the place. I always ask what is wanted. I think it's best to check.
I have never spoken anywhere without people wanting powerpoint slides before hand and in my case they usually want long written papers in addition which is more work but that's because of the nature of what I do.

Thanks for all your help.
In the end the 3rd party declined to print as quite long, so I get access to those that have opted in for the email to send the slides - result!
