Client is with Bank of Scotland and can take manual credit card payments via Paypoint.

Is it not worth the hassle of searching around - should I just get whatever BOS have to offer?

They took about £30k last year through Paypoint and paid about £1500 in fees.

We bank with Natwest and use HSBC for chip and pin as Natwest couldn't get anywhere close to them in charges. It is very worthwhile shopping around. We took around £400K last year and paid around £2500 total in fees so I would say they are massively over paying an we have three terminals so three sets of fees. I would be looking for less than 20p per transaction on debit cards and 1.2% on credit cards with that kind of turnover.

I know this is a very late response and you would have been sorted by now but I would say shop around and you will get the POS at very preferential rate. For eg- Card Cutters Ltd, www.card-cutters.co.uk try them, no hidden charges and set up fee and very very cheap and very good service and support. Switching to them is not even a hassle.
