fostering and having a special needs child of our own

DH and I are considering fostering we have 4 children but 1 has Asperger syndrome. We used respite care when he was small and we needed help but now feel we would like to foster. My aunt fostered but I don't know any one to ask if this issue would effect us applying. Our kids our 11, 9, 7, 3. It's the 11 ds that has Asperger syndrome.

We have read that the child would need his/her own room and our youngest would move in with the next oldest child happily as we have bunk beds in that room. ANy other info would be gratefully received.

I know this is an old post but we are in that positon now. Our child has more physical disabilities and medical needs.

Just wondering how you got on?

Any advice from others on this subject gratefully appreciated.

We have a birth child aged 7 with sn (adhd/asd) and also foster, currently a 8year old(nt) a 4year old(also sn) and a newborn baby(no issues).

Having experience of sn is always a bonus and as long as you can meet everyones needs it should not be a problem.
