Looking for a little bit of advice from any one in a similar situation, I'm a single mum of two DC 5/3 a family member of mine died less than a year ago leaving 2 DC 9/3 the other parent in theses children's life has been deemed unfit to look after them due to violence and drug problems , I had spoken to SS when the other parent died and said if need be I will take both children , I received a letter today from SS saying they need a letter from my doctor to go ahead before hearing, I'm terrified at messing this up what if I can't cope with 4 what if my DC feel pushed out ? Did it work in your family and how did it work?. Any advice or experience good or bad I would love to hear Smile thank you all

If you feel emotionally ready to support these kids then go for it, SS are there to help and will support you and the kids as long as you need. There is financial support available too, and your kids will learn kindness, empathy and be more emotionally mature. Just make sure you have alone time with each child regularly

I have routine , love patience and support for all kids , I'm just worried that I will make a selfish decision to take over there care and not give all the kids the time they need.
