i get DLA for my fc, middle rate care and lower mobility.

the department (LA) are now just saying after 6 years i have to keep recipts and a log of what i spend it on and every penny has to be accounted for. Is this right? is there a new policy?

I also get DLA for my ds and DWP have never asked how i spend his or the the lac's money.

I claim nothing extra from the dept, no petrol milage or anything, furniture anything i just pay for stuff rather than ask so it can't be that i am claiming for thing that should come from that money.

Frankly I am insulted

Any advice really welcome.

Think this is probably just that the SW wants the info. They are entitled to ask as this is the child's money.
We didn't know our LO was entitled to this money and were only advised by IRO to claim it after 2 years.
When it was granted we decided to put half in their savings account and the rest goes on extra clubs and to replace items broken. We are asked at every review what we spend it on but haven't yet been asked to prove it.
You may be able to claim carers allowance that would be money for you.
In our instance all mileage etc is to be paid from fostering allowance.

I don't think they can. I think you are answerable to the disability people. The money belongs to the child, I think you need to prove to the dla dept that you spend it on said child ( if they ask). LA overstepping a bit.

No you never have to prove it to the dwp. Dla is solely the child's money so keeping a record for a child that is not yours is a good idea.
