he's been removed, and will be coming here shortly - I didn't realise the mixed bag of emotions I would be feeling right now!

Can I just say well done to you. You must be an amazing person to do this. And all of you other foster carers. You hear so many horror stories of foster homes but anything I have read by any foster parent on here just makes me think WOW!

And Squidgy - enjoy!

Oh squidy.. I am sooooo pleased for you... well done!! and bless, he sounds so lovely...

I agree, poor hubby... still, hopefully plenty of time...

Don't worry - huge rollercoaster of emotions I think is PERFECTLY normal... lots of panic, OMG feelings, I can't do this, not sleeping in case they make a noise...

Chill babes.. you can do this, you will do this, and you WILL make a difference..

Every day a huge step forward... if you ever find a spare minute in your new life, log on!!!

Loads of love and positive vibes.. Grin x x

I'm so grateful for you ladies - I think that you are the only people I can talk to that know what I am dealing with.

It has been a roller coaster 24 hours! I didn't expect to have to deal with how many emotions that I have been feeling today.

My DH is an amazing man and is a wonderful father and I have missed him badly today. If for nothing else than having to build the highchair ;)

The LO is so settled, he's not strange with me at all, and loves to trail about after my 3 kids.

He had contact with both mum and dad (separately) and I got to meet them both and I am actually really impressed with his Mum, I just hope that her actions sound as loud as her words.

I am not so sure about the LO's social worker I think she has taken the p**s somewhat today, but I have done for it today for the LO but it's not carrying on (things like I said I needed to leave at 2.45 and I ended up getting to leave at 3.15! (I had to get a friend to pick up MY kids)

Thankfully the LO sleeps well - slept all night (you can keep the sleepy dust for just now SSM Wink he sleeps 8-8

Have had a few moments when I have been feeling like I am standing on the edge of a cliff thinking what on earth have I done, saying you can do this and doing it are 2 different things

but one day at a time, and I know when DH gets home it will feel easier.

thanks again ladies - hoping all you and your LOs are doing ok, and the ones on the journey to this point keep going it is worth it x x x

I waited up for your response, and now giving up the fight! I'm glad you had time to sign in - must be a good sign! Have a good nights sleep tonight, sweet dreams, and I'll catch up with you tomorrow.

BTW I hate rollercoasters!

Take care xxx

oh well done honey bun... glad he settled well enough...

sw taking the p**s - hmm.. that sounds very familiar..

standing on the edge of a cliff.. hmm.. that sounds very familiar too...

God, its a wonderful job but God, it can be difficult and emotional one too...

My LO's doing superb - they saw someone dressed up as a monkey yesterday at a play centre and were just stunned - I couldn't help but cry at their delighted faces.. Blush

Keep up the good work, hope hubby back real real soon, and stand up to the SW's !!!

Hi Squidgybrain (great name btw)It's v exciting to read your posts. hubby and I have been on the journey for a year now and still no sign of a panel date! nevermind we will get there in the end.:)

our 2 girls are not so patient tho' keep asking when the baby will arrive!
the littlest always adds a baby to her pictures when she draws our family!

Report
SquidgyBrain · 13/11/2010 15:03

Don't worry p99 and Shaz I well have the SW number, she will soon realise that she can't take the p**s.

Glad that your LO's are doing so well :) How fab about the monkey man :) (or lady)

Midgesmum hopefully a panel date will be soon, my 3 kiddos were rather impatient too, although I'm not sure a very active into everything 11 month old was what they pictured our foster child to be - I think they were thinking more the lines of a tiny baby.

Very sweet that your youngest adds a baby to her pictures :)

Today has been much better than yesterday, but then LO doesn't have contact and I don't have to rush about getting the kids to school and get shopping either. Feeling much more settled in myself today too.

LO seems totally settled, just a smiley mischievous little person :)

Hoping everyone is having a good weekend :)
