My DH isnt in the army anymore but he has been diagnosed with Combat Stress. Im finding it verydifficult to cope with and wondered if there was anyone else out there coping with this who has any advice?

Been trying to cope for 2 years and getting to the end of my tether...

Sorry to hear your dh has been diagnosed with combat stress. I don't know enough about it to give advice.

What are the symptoms? Do you/have you both had any counselling?

He went away last year with Combat Stress for therapy and is going again in Jan. I havent had any support and dont know where to find it...

Symptoms are going into his own world and he says he goes back in time, other than that just being totally unreasonable most of the time...

If you google PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) you will find lots of helpful information. I was diagnosed with complex PTSD and therapy has been fantastically helpful. Good luck to you both.

Combat stress occasionally do partners therapy as well i think - or at least they used to... you should be able to access support of your own through your gp but it is a bit hit and miss.

there you go. just call their helpline. it's for any vet or family member that needs to discuss anything to do with combat stress. v easy.

not sure if they are still offering direct therapy, but dh should have been given the info when he first attended. understandable that it wasn't passed on, but easy enough for you to access yourself by calling.

good luck x
