If they are frozen sausages then they are designed to be cooked from frozen.

If they are fresh sausages that you have then frozen yourself you will need to defrost them first because they will all be stuck together in a huge sausage-like pile of stuff.

nah hack em orf

fryalot · 25/09/2007 14:45

if you hack em orf then you will split the skins and when you cook them they won't be sausage-like any more

when I get my sausages in a big pile from my farmer [ponce], I freeze them on a big tray then they freeze individually

then bag em up and take out what you want

have you tried the Dinner Lady sausage casserole receipe?

you don't grill sausages?

why ever not?

pmsl!!!!!

They are fresh then frozen, so will have to shoogle (loving that word).

So - oven cook? (I normally grill or casserole...)

I just bung em in on a tray and leave em? 40 mins is that everyone's timing or just for very blackened ones?

oven cooking is fine, but they don't crispen up very well, so you may have to give them a quich shwizz under the grill at the end anyway.

Can I grill the frozen ones then?!?! I am used to grilling... although I could just bung them in the oven and ignore which is also good.

Oooh the decisions.

The DC find them easier to eat if they aren't crispy, so now shwizzing necessary

I have never ever cooked freshly frozen sausages

I wasn't even aware that you could do this?

Can you cook bacon from frozen too????

Well, flame, I suggest you open the door & check them every 10 or so minutes near the 30/40 minute mark, just to ensure they're not very black

What're you having with them?

If doing them in the oven I would put a glug of olive oil on the baking tray..... though don't know if this applies to frozen ones

I never oven cook sausages - always grill.. please explain why you shouldnt grill ??

you don't need any oil in the baking tray as there is enough fat and stuff that will come out of the sausage.

And with frozen bacon, again, the rashers will all be stuck together in a frozen mass of stuff and if you try to peel them off then they split and you end up with loads of scraps.

Much better to defrost bacon

Mash, beans n onion gravy (if I have an onion , or any gravy for that matter... chicken gravy really won't be the same!)
