Recommendations for mincemeat please

I didn't realise that it needs to be matured for two weeks if you make it, so I need to buy some - which is the nicest kind, anyone know?

Whatever you buy, add a slug of alcohol of your choice to pep it up a bit!

Sainsbury's mincemeat is nice.

I use delias recipe - it doesn't say anything about maturing for 2 weeks only an overnight soak of the ingredients. Might be ok if you still want to make your own. Since I've made it myself ( only last couple of years) I can't find any ready mades that equate.

I wanted to make some after my niece's amazing mincepies last year, but it sounded too expensive buying all the ingredients, jars etc.

Maybe a local bakery or similar would sell nice mincemeat...
