BLW recipe thread

I am currently doing baby led weaning with DS 7m, it's easy enough to just give him what I'm having for breakfast (e.g. Toast, yoghurt, fruit) or lunch (sandwich, cucumber, scrambled eggs etc) but I'm struggling a bit with dinners as a lot of our quick weeknight dinners aren't the healthiest e.g. jarred pasta sauces, chicken with oven chips and peas/salad etc.

I thought it might be nice to start a thread where we post quick dinner recipes that are healthy enough to feed to babies.

My strategy at the moment is to put DS in the jumperoo and chop vegetables in the living room but that's about as far as I've gotten in terms of being efficient.

We didn't call it BLW when mine were tiny, they just ate what we ate. I never add salt during cooking anyway. Mine loved salmon ravioli, we would make huuuuge ones filled with salmon, spinach and mascarpone.
Could you make your own pasta sauce instead of jars? Then there is no sugar or salt. I do Marcella Hazan's version it couldn't be easier. Why not serve the chicken with rice, pasta or garlic potatoes and salad?

Omelettes and frittata type dishes are supper quick and ideal for BLW

I used to do roast veg in the oven as I could prep that when DD was napping and serve with pasta/rice etc.

I think one of the great things that BLW does is it causes you to look at the diet of your whole family. We took to bulk making pasta sauce and freezing, this could be used with lots of dinners and it made life easier. Again, we swapped oven chips for home made wedges which I'd part make and freeze.

DD used to love Omelettes with veg too which was easy!

My DS loves salmon! He usually has it with veg but this week I am going to make salmon and sweet potato fishcakes. Jacket potatoes are a huge hit here too!

The only thing he hasn't really taken to is pasta which is a huge surprise. We eat a lot of pasta in this house!

Homemade pea and ham soup was a success last night, I used a Kallo very low salt stockcube and took DSs portion out before adding the ham. He had it with cheese toast fingers dunked into the soup instead of a spoon.
I think I'm going to try and get into the habit of making soup once a week as it's healthy, and easy i.e. I can just chuck all the stuff in, let it simmer and not worry about timings.

homemade fish fingers

roasted parsnip/sweet potato chips go with lots of mains

I made a batch of eggy muffins (egg, cheese, peas and sweetcorn) baked in a muffin tray and freeze them in a zip lock bag so I can get them out in the morning to defrost and serve with our sides such as steamed veg
