Please can I have some recommendations for meat-free sausages - what are the most "real-tasting" ones you have tried?

Linda McCartney and Cauldron are veggie ex-H's favourites.

I like Linda McCartney's red onion and rosemary sausages.
Handy to keep in the freezer, and they cook quickly from frozen.

Linda McCartney ones always been a big hit with my meat eating friends. I like them, but can't vouch for how 'real' they taste as I have nothing to compare to.
Linda McCartney sausage rolls are also great! Both the sausages and rolls are vegan, not all meat free products are.

Tried the Cauldron ones today and found them a bit grim Hmm. Will try Linda McCartney's next time!

I like the Quorn Best of British ones for flavour and texture.

Veggie DP always goes for Cauldron, but I'm with you, too slimy!

As a meat-eater I'd say Linda's are the most meat-like.

Yep quorn best of British for sure.

I like Cauldron. Linda McCartney are ok but weird texture IMO. The sausage rolls are lovely though.

Quorn, Best of British, Lincolnshire style ones are Dd's favourites.

Cauldron sausages are lovely and the only ones that don't go rubbery in a casserole!

We're not vegetarian but my DD is picky about meat so we get the cauldron veggie sausages, which freeze well. I brush on sunflower oil and oven bake for longer than the pack recommends. They're drier than meat sausages but we like them. Will have to look out for the Lynda McC to try (but recent experience of 'pulled pork burger' makes me dubious)

Just seen you didn't like Cauldron sorry!!

I don't mind the Cauldron ones, but the kids prefer the Quarndon Best of British ones, so that's what we usually have.

Tuiles · 16/10/2016 20:22

Quarndon wtf!! Quorn obvs Grin

Don't be put off Errol, the pulled pork burgers are awful, but the majority of the range is lovely.
The spinach and mushroom burgers are also really nice.

Quorn best of British fresh ones are more meaty whereas cauldron are herby

I find most of the Linda McCartney range swims in grease when you cook it, the pulled pork burgers were horrendous!

The Linda range are my fave - ignore some of the newer stuff it's a bit weird. Sausages are brilliant, as are sausage rolls.

Tesco Lincolnshire veggie sausages are really nice, especially cooked on the bbq!

The Tival hot dogs taste how I remember real ones to taste like. Oh course, I'm not sure how much meat is in a real one!

My personal faves are the Cauldron ones or the Linda McCartney ones.

Really liked the spinach and mushroom burgers from LM that a pp mentioned. Only managed to get them from Ocado though.
