Coffee bean grinder help needed

I've just started working from home and, while my business is still very new, I can no longer afford my daily latte addiction. I've inherited a great combo filter and espresso making machine so I need to finally use it.

A friend said the reason their home coffee tastes so good is that they grind the beans each time. This sounds like a good idea and it's my birthday coming up so I need recommendations for a reasonably priced coffee bean grinder that the family can club together and buy me. It's got to be easy to use as I'm crap with machinery.

I've gotten overwhelmed by the choices online and I'm hoping mumsnet can point the way. smile
