Pressure cookers

Been thinking about purchasing a pressure cooker as my step mum sent my slow cooker back broken and now need to replace it. So thought rather then buying a slow cooker I would get a pressure cooker instead. So my nice neighbour Lent me theirs to see if I would use it (have little confidence in cooking). So I suppose my questions are?

Do you have one? Do you like it? Is it better then a slow cooker? What do u cook in it?

Again very little confidence. (I'm a failure in cooking dept.

Any advice and help would be appreciated.

there's a mahoosive thread all about the Instant Pot if you want to have a look at that

I am a huge slowcooker fan, so was looking to replace my big one that died, but went for an Instant Pot instead, and have used it such a lot.

It pressure cooks, slow cooks, steams, makes yoghurt, acts as a rice cooker...all sorts of things.

I slow cooked a shoulder of pork in mine yesterday for pulled pork, but that was because I was pottering...I have pressure cooked it instead and had equaly good results.

As Tondeleya!says, it is worth looking at an Instant Pot. I git one a couple of weeks ago and am enjoying it.

Just put Instant Pot in the search bar abive. The biggest thread is an AIBU something like 'AIBU to tell you all about my instant pot'

I've got both and much prefer the PC. Super speedy for pulses etc and v. tender meat in a fraction of the usual time. I've never had much success with the SC, takes hours and ends up as a watery rather bland mush. I do like it to make rice pudding (although it tends to stick)

Another vote for an Instant Pot, I got mine a few weeks ago and have made loads in it. There is a uk FB page and a US one with loads of hints, tips and recipes.
