Nope. I wouldn't. A year out of date. Boke. Surely your need for soup can't possibly be that bad that you can't wait? (It will probably be fine btw, but the tought of it gives me the heebies)

where do you get a year out of date from? Confused and even if it was a year out of date it would still be fine. They just lose a bit of flavour as time goes on and you may need 2 of them.

ah I see it sorry Grin it'll still be fine. it's just salt.

Thanks for the passive aggressive emoji though. Love that.

I'm a food hygiene auditor. It'll be fine.
It's a best before date, not a use by or expiry date. There is very little risk of contracting food borne illnesses from consuming food after its best before date. It's use by dates you need to observe, for things like soft cheese, meats and other high risk food. All the happens with an old stock cube is it it loses a bit of flavour and maybe dries out a bit. Make your soup! Hope it's delicious!

I would. And have !

I'd use it.

A stock cube is very unlikely to have anything in it that might make you ill.

It just won't have as much flavour to it.

Thanks everyone, I think I'm going to risk it!

I wasn't being passive aggressive, I saw my mistake and apologised. Don't get your panties in a bunch seeing things that aren't there man.

i saw my mistake and apologised. That's great, we all make mistakes and I appreciate you taking the time to apologise. It doesn't make your original snide remark any less though. Thanks for the further comment about my panties, they were just bunching up so I took your advice and have since straightened them
