BBQ food - what do you cook? Burgers and sausages or something more 'exciting'?!

Have a BBQ tomorrow and will be feeding 10 adults and 15 kids!
Will stick to burgers and sausages with baps but want to add something bit more exciting too! Will do loads of fried onions as I love them!
Will do some sides of homemade coleslaw, BBQ corn on the cob, tomato and onion salad and tomato and mozzarella salad.
Would you add something else? If so, what? Am
Wondering whether to do some sort of skewer kebab, chicken, onion, peppers? Not sure i could face doing at least 25 of those though!
Any good ideas as either main or sides?
Someone is bringing dessert but maybe I should do a kiddie dessert, any ideas?!
Many thanks!

Ooh I like a bit of "grown up" food for the bbq - this year I've done , pork chops with sage butter, peppered steak,
chilli and lime chicken legs,
spicy marinated chicken wings, rabbit stuffed with fennel rosemary and halloumi,
lemon and parsley stuffed sea bass or trout,
sweet chilli salmon steaks,
lamb and veg kebabs
Lamb kofta
, delias halloumi with lime and caper dressing,
Stuffed Pirandello mushrooms
Garlic mushroom kebabs

That said I still eat a burger and sausage. I'm just exceptionally greedy ShockGrin

Your menu sounds lovely but I think I would add a non-processed meat option (that sounds like I'm being snooty but really I'm not!) I'd go with skewers like you mentioned, if threading them up seems a bit time consuming you could buy chicken breasts, bash them out a bit so they are thinner, then cut them length ways into long strips, marinate them then weave them in a sort of Consitina onto the skewers, it's slightly quicker than threading on individual chunks.
Other ideas, sweet potato sliced are lovely bbqed and we've recently discover barbecuing flat bread and they are fab too. I would make the dough and cook on the BBQ before the BBQ and then just whack back on for a minute or too to warm.
Maybe another salad, mayb a potato or cous cous one.
Pud wise I'd be tempted just to grab some nice ice cream and ton of strawberries and maybe some glazed pinapple or water melon to do on the BBQ.

I know exactly what you mean about non processed meat! Think I will get some ready chicken chunks and thread some kebabs up. Or cookingongas, are you free tomorrow because all of yours sound amazing!
Will also do the sweet potato slices as we all love sweet potato.
Many thanks.

Fish is really easy. Stick lemon and herbs in it, chuck on some white wine and wrap in foil. Doesn't take long either.

What fish would you recommend? A big salmon or a white fish? Good idea to just parcel up in tinfoil with herbs and wine. May even do that indoors as there's going to be a lot going on!
Thought about bags of salad leaves and then grilling some red peppers and adding that with cherry tomatoes, cucumber and some cubed roasted sweet potato, does that sound a good extra salad? Try as I may, my potato salad never tastes very nice but the shop bought tastes worse!

I cook salmon fillets on the bbq- as they hold up really well and don't flake, pork chops are gorgeous, chicken thighs ( part cook in the oven and then finish off on the BBQ) are super tasty. Pineapple is great and so is halloumi.

Yum!

Onion and red/green pepper make lovely bbq skewers. I also love pesto portobello mushrooms (I use butter and pesto then bbq for ages so it's all pestoy and melty).

My stock standard: marinaded venison, chicken skewers or drumsticks, mushrooms and vege skewers as above, green salad and garlic bread.

Tomorrow I'm doing slow roasted pork shoulder, BBQ beef short ribs (and a sausage for picky dd)

Then potato salad ( might steal recipe above) crusty bread, sweet corn salad, green salad, coleslaw and tomato salad.

If you can get hold of paneer or halloumi cheese, they go great on skewers with red peppers, red onions and all the usual veg suspects for skewers

Love fish in foil on a BBQ, salmon is a fave but large whole sea bass are lovely too. Looks so spectacular when you open it up.

I'd also always have loads of garlic bread but the sort that oozes garlic butter, not the dry baguette stuff that some brands offer, the ciabatta version I find nicer. Always plenty of coleslaw, potato salad and quiches!
