Air Fryer Chips

Are they anything like deep fat fryer chips? We need to get a new fryer and debating whether to get an air fryer not convinced we would find the chips the same taste.

If you buy oven chips and use the air fryer they taste great. I prefer savoury wedges though.

I love our air fryer and wouldn't go back to a deep fat fryer for any money.

I just bought an air fryer this week. We tried chips first, cut up some Maris Pipers, rinsed and dried them then threw into the drier with a drizzle of rapeseed oil. The results were lovely, crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle and not at all greasy.

Yesterday we chopped up butternut squash, peppers and courgette with a little olive oil, a little paprika and a few herbs. Took about 40 mins to roast the veg but was well worth waiting for. Delicious served with grilled chicken & couscous.

Tonight I'm trying out sweet potato wedges, they are cooking now....

I think they make great chips, just a wee tiny bit oil required, no smell Smile

Delicious chips, a million times nicer than oven chips, but absolutely nothing like chips from a proper chip pan of that's what you're after

Thanks it is chips from a chip pan rather than oven chips we are after - think we will probably stick with tried and tested deep fat fryer
