Anyone got a great muffin recipe?

I'm now on maternity leave and have some spare time for baking. I wanted to make muffins (fruit or veggie) but the couple of recipes I've tried (found online) so far have been very disappointing.
Does anyone have a really good recipe, or any tips that I may be missing?

These are amazing (leave off the icing unless you have a VERY sweet tooth). However, they need to be eaten very fresh

Invest in Susan Reimer's book Muffins fast & fantastic! If you take the time to read the introduction & explanation of how muffins work, you will become a muffin queen! All her recipes work for me plus I've made my own combinations

If you want savoury muffins, these are really good. Healthy too. I tweak the recipe sometimes by adding in a squeeze of pesto, or some fried up onion and mushroom, corn etc.
