Vegetarian packed lunch ideas needed please

Some of you kindly helped me with ideas for food to feed dd who has recently become a vege. All is going well but we're back at school and have packed lunch problems. She had a cheese sandwich yesterday and french bread and houmous today. School does not allow peanut butter, and she really isn't keen on egg sandwiches (I cannot bear hard boiled eggs so would have trouble doing this).
So what else can I offer her please?
Thanks

sandwiches we like are:

cream cheese mixed with any of the following: spring onions, grated cheese, beetroot, celery, red peppers, grated carrot, cucumber

houmous and roasted veg

cheese and houmous

cheese and coleslaw

soups? Cauldron veg pates are lovely, cottage cheese and crudites,

you could also do crudites/breadsticks and dip, or cream cheese

Would she like salads & roll? Couscous / rice salad? Could she take a flask of soup to school? I don't know how old she is so that may be inappropriate.

How about one of those Stanley food heaters. Like a flash but top wide enough to put food in and keeps food hot for up to 6 hours.

My two love theirs. They have pasta of all kinds, veggie sausages, banana custard. They love having hot food and it's so easy and better than boring sarnies.

what about a pasta salad?

Something like cold pasta, a tomato sauce, peas, sweetcorn, vege hot dog sausages?

OR a rice salad?

falafels are good - can make them or buy them. They are good in pitta bread.

Wow, thank you so much! There's enough ideas for ever there. She never had that much variety as a non-vegetarian!
Where can I get food flasks?

don't know if this helps but I have recently discovered the best cook book in the world ever! - 'Leith's vegetarian bible'. Its more meal-based so may not be the best thing for packed lunches but it's given me loads of inspiration for meat-free meals. It's currently available for half price - £15 - on Amazon. It is divided into sections by vegetable type so if for example you have loads of carrots you can just go straight to the carrot section and all the recipes are in one place. I've loved everything i've made from this book, even if i say so myself! It's also worth visiting the Vegetarian Society's website at vegsoc.org - there is loads on there to help new and converting veggies with meal ideas. Hope this helps!

Chiefcookandbottlewasher, a friend lent me the Leiths bible yesterday and it looks like my kind of book. So thanks to you I've just ordered it off Amazon at half price!

Not veggie but when DS and I were the only non muslim participants at a variety of local kiddie things I always ensured a culturally acceptable pack up, so mostly veggy

Ones that went down well were

Cheese spread and spring onion butties
Cream cheese and grape (very popular)

Bulgar wheat and toasted nut salad

Butter bean and pearl barley soup

tabbouleh (bulghar wheat, toms, celery, parsley and lemon dressing), stuffed vine leaves are quite nice too, what about slices of grilled halloumi? or greek salad with cucumber/toms/feta? moutabal is lovely too (all in Leiths I think)

roast veg is a good one as you could do a load on a sunday and have some for salad/sandwich fillings and blitz some for soup?

or what about cheating and doing loads of salady things but with different dressings - like a japanesy one or a blue cheese one..

Posey, you can get food flasks from camping type shops or I got mine off the net. The make is Stanley but I can't do links. It was mentioned undet "are you fed up of sandwiches" type link around November time.

Others said GLTC does them but the ones I have definitely stay hot for 6-8 hours.

I am vege so often do vege based meals for ds who is 2.

Quiche/Frittata or Egg filled pastry/bread case

Savoury muffins..cream cheese and chives, cheese and corn.

Diced pineapple and cheese salad

Toasted sammies with spag/baked beans and cheese

Vege sausages diced in a pita pocket with salad veges and salsa

Lentil curry or vegetable curry (our household favourite) ds will happily eat these cold but I prefer them heated so would need flask or heating facilities

Mixed seeds and raisins (pepita, sunflower, sesame)
