I have to cater for a fairly large group of 12, out of that I have a vegan, a vegetarian plus 2 gluten free. The rest are all meat eaters and fairly easy to feed. Could anyone suggest a meal that could feed us all. I was thinking of maybe some sort of buffet or tapas but I am fairly time restricted so don't want to spend all day on lots of dishes. Last time I catered for this group I done chilli/curry variations but don't really want to duplicate. Flowers

How about gluten free good quality pasta with a sauce made from lots of garlic, chopped onions, passata, herbs & black olives. Gluten free bread on the side, if possible a choice of breads. Also maybe some balsamic vinegar with oil to dip bread into. Then if you wish to have meaty bits you can do some fried bacon bits/lardons for the meat eaters & cheese to sprinkle on?

Might be a bit basic though....

Fajitas (with tofu sofrito for the veggies), make sure the guacamole's not got any dairy

Mezze type thing - hummus, babganoush, tabbouleh, felafel, breads, spiced roasted cauliflower, chicken kebabs for the meat-eaters (buy some of the dippy things for time saving - hard to beat a bought felafel)

What about a puttanesca but do a veggie one? You could even use gluten free pasta etc and then make a meat or fish based sauce for others? Or not, if they're happy to eat veggie

Jacket potatoes, sausages and beans, plus veg. Linda McCartney sausages are vegan, and you can get gluten free sausages.

Or some kind of bean stew?

Gotta go for rice.

I would make a fried rice (in oil, not egg) with cashew nuts and lavish amounts of veg, maybe cheat with a black bean or hoisin stir fry sauce if vegan. I think I'd make the rice itself the night before.

Quorn now do a vegan range- including chicken style pieces and fillets (you can get them in sainsburys and probably other supermarkets). Do you have a chicken dish you like that you could use vegan quorn in instead? There's also a vegan mince in this range which makes a pretty good bolognaise.

Was going to say chilli or curry!

Is cous cous vegan? You could do two tagines, a meat one and a vege/chickpea one and a couple of Middle Eastern-esque salads, plus cous cous if it is okay.

Tagine is a good idea - one with aubergines, chickpeas and apricots etc. Couscous is vegan (its basically pasta, Remus) and you can get gluten-free.
Vegan quorn is pretty disgusting tbh.

Or Aubergine parmiagiana - do a normal version and a vegan version using violife cheese. Really good. Lovely fresh salad with it. Crusty bread for those who can have it. Side order of charcuterie should anyone feel deprived if there is no meat.

You lovely lot there are some great ideas here. I'm loving the tangine idea with some lovely salads and breads.
Would anyone have a recipe they wouldn't mind sharing?

I haven't made it but this looks nice. I use a Madhur J recipe, but it's not terribly pretty!
