The recipe requires oatcakes to be blitzed as part of the cheesecake base (along with flour/butter/dates) but couldn't get any oatcakes at the supermarket today. Do you think using porridge oats instead would be okay?

I'd use digestive biscuits instead.

yep digestive biscuits, if you have some ginger snaps throw them in too - makes it nice and crunchy. I also add some golden syrup into the base too, just a small amount - 2 tablespoons.

So...when it came to it I realised I didn't have digestive biscuits in the cupboard and i couldn't face going back out with the DC so I improvised with NICE biscuits and porridge oats! Pleased to report that the finished cheesecake tasted pretty good so worked out okay in the end! Smile
