Take cauliflower
Grate
Fry off with oil and seasoning, over a med-high heat. (I prefer coconut oil and low-salt boullion powder)
Devour.

If you have spare grated cauli, freeze it, then cook it as above from frozen.

I have just boiled it as usual and then mashed it with a bit of butter. Just used the hot plate. Tastes fine but don't know if that is the proper rice way.

If I'm having it with curry, I grate and stick it in the microwave for 3-4 mins.

Can I blitz in food processor instead of grate by hand Confused - or will that make it too tiny grains ?

I usually grate it then pop it in the microwave for 4-5 minutes, no water needed.

Yes you can blitz it, just do it to the size you want it, few second blasts at a time.

I would definitely go for the food processor over hand grating everytime as it's really really messy !

It probably is more of a mash but depends how long you boil it iyswim.

I blitz the cauliflower in a food processor until it looks slightly larger than couscous. Then fry over a medium heat in coconut oil with some pilau rice seasoning sprinkled in. You can tell when it's done, it changes appearance slightly.

I blitz in the food p like craftynclothy until its a bit bigger than couscous. I also grate the stalk in as well in the food p.

Its nice gentry toasted in a pan, but I also like it done for a few mins in the microwave (I maybe a teaspoon or two of water as I like it slightly wetter sometimes).

I boil it, then put it through a ricer. You can toast it afterwards, but you have to be careful (and I think it's quite nice without).

AH that's a nice idea too, Polka!

I like cauliflower rice but the one time I made it, it showered my kitchen in shards of cauliflower that I was still finding months later. That was with a food processor (but one of those small ones so had to do it in several batches).

I'd love to make it again but not sure I can deal with the mess.

I've done it pre food processors with a sharp knife and a chopping board and frequent swipe into a big mixing bowl. Didn't have a big mess.

I've just shredded an entire one with the FP and frozen it (it came in my veggie box but don't want it till next week). Very little mess. BBC Good Food website suggest tossing it in a bit of oilve oil and spices then spreading it on a tray to roast for 10 mins, so I'm going to try that.

We've always grated and steamed ours.

Expect it to make an unholy mess, and don't expect it to taste like rice Grin

Pulse in food processor and microwave for a few mins. Perfect with curry
