Argh! Oven is out of action! Need recipes for meals for ds (15 months) (and possibly for DH and me too) that need no oven...am sick of fried chicken strips and pasta ...

I lived without an oven for over 2 months! I did have a foreman grill do you have a grill?

If yes then it's quite easy as you can do lamb/pork chops etc.

If not then spag bol, risotto, jacket potatoes with various fillings, homemade soups with crusty bread,

Mediterranean veg - chop courgette, onion, mushrooms, peppers into small pieces & fry till soft. Add tin tomatoes, handful of frozen sweetcorn & simmer for 10 mins. Freezes really well and you can have it with pasta, on fish pieces or chicken strips, (microwaved) jacket spuds

And if you really want to cheat - the Chicken Tonight sauces can be done on the hob. They're mostly low in salt & sugar.

If you live near a large supermarket ie Sainsburys, Tesco, Morrisons, Waitrose - alot of them do the hot, ready roasted chickens. They are the same price - in fact possibly a bit cheaper than an uncooked one - all you need is some steamed veg and some mash or sautee potatoes.
