can you freeze sausage casserole

i am a veggie but have just cooked sausage casserole for dh - 8 hours on low. dh just called to say he's had huge lunch, can i freeze it? forgive my ignorance blush

But, I don't find that casseroles freeze very well.

If he is eating it tomorrow then just put it in the fridge rather than the freezer

I didn't think you could reheat pork?
My friends mum was told this is what made her son blind shock
This was a long time ago now, he was in the womb at the time.
It was a pork pie though, not casserole.
I would google some chefs and see what they say.
I wouldn't freeze and reheat a pork product.

This is how batch cooking works so there is no problem regardless of what meat you are using.

Make sure it is fully cooked. Chill then freeze. Defrost fully in the fridge before cooking.

Food poisoning can cause all sort of awful things so if someone was made blind by frozen pork I would reckon it was more likely to be due to food poisoning than the mode of storage.

I have never heard of it causing blindness mind you

Of course you can freeze cooked pork! You can also freeze uncooked pork, defrost it, cook it, then freeze it again.

You can't refreeze meat in the same state (ie raw or cooked) as it was the first time it was frozen, but it can certainly be frozen cooked and eaten once thawed out.

DO reheat thoroughly though.
