Half and half

I've just received the free ice cream maker for my Kitchenaid so ive decided to have a go at making some ice cream this weekend.

One of the ingredients I need is half and half, the book does say this is 10% fat cream, but I can't remember seeing this is the shops. Does anyone know where I can buy it from or if there's another name for it?

I think half and half is single cream. Heavy cream is double.

The link above works out half and half as 15% and UK single cream as 18% so it should be fine!

Apparently you can substitute it with half cream, half whole milk

In Belgium half and half is Half white wine half champagne. unhelpful

It's a north american thing- we have it here in Canada - it's a light cream you use for coffee.

3 parts single cream to one part milk would be a good sub i'd say

When I was growing up (in the Netherlands) my mum would ask for Half and Half at the butchers.
It was half pork mince and half beef mince.
