Hi,I normaly make a cheese sauce with a little bit of grain mustard in .Mix with coked macaroni. You could add some pieces of ham.
Then top with a mixture of breadcrumbs and parmesaen or cheddar or both .

I add fried lardons (cubes of bacon) and chopped boiled egg to cooked macaroni. Make a cheese sauce - melt butter, add flour to make a paste, slowly add milk until you get a slightly runny sauce, add salt/pepper a teaspoon of mustard and some nutmeg. Add grated cheese to sauce, when that has melted pour over macaroni, top with grated cheese and bung in oven until golden.

boil macaroni with chopped onion until cooked .. drain

in the meantime

make white sauce (roux and milk .. will explain this if you need)
add mature grated cheddar till it tastes cheesy
tip in can of chopped tomatoes
taste sauce to check its yummy
mix into pasta and onion

tip into casserole dish, cover with grated cheese and foil

bake for 45 mins (last 10 mins uncovered) at 180

HTH

I usually make it with just a cheese sauce and only add cauliflower to it.

Hey, any which way to disguise veggies they won't eat! And yes it would be cauliflower cheese if the macaroni wasn't the main part of it.

"Mummy what is this?"
"Its a bit of macaroni gone wrong, just eat it!"

I take it cauliflower cheese isn't fashionable then. Oh well, I suppose if you are iffy about it you could do broccoli instead.
