Remoska cooking thread

Hi.

Not sure if one exists but hey, what's another thread.

About 6 months ago, our oven broke and I had been looking into Remoskas when I realised that our slow cooker didn't do veggie food all that well.

So we decided to use the oven as storage and invest in a Remoska. We bought the big one.

It is fab. Unbelievably fab. Apart from the tray that we waited ages for to let us cook stuff nearer the top is too close to do pies. But hey ho.

We use it for everything, currently I am roasting out a tomato glut for freezing once all the moisture is gone.

Best recipe:
Put a dash of oil in the pan and turn it on - put the lid on to warm whilst you prep the food.
Chop an onion, and throw it into the pan. And any meat if you eat it [we don't].

Add any spices you like [eg for curry, for chilli, for pasta - just change your herbs and spices to suit].

Chop some veg, throw into the pan. Leave it for about 30 mins. Add cheese, cream, tomatoes, fresh herbs - whatever finishes off your meal. Season and leave for 10 mins whilst you cook rice, pasta - whatever.

Bung pasta into the pan, mix and serve. Or put your rice on the plate and serve.

Honest to goodness it's the best kitchen gadget ever.

Roast dinners:
Put some oil in the pan and turn it on to heat.
Peel spuds, parboil and throw into the hot oil along with any stuffing, carrots, parsnips you also want to roast. Put lid back on [important].
Whilst it is cooking, prep your boiled or steamed veg.
After 30-45 mins, depending on how crispy you like your roast veg; add your meat or veg main into the middle of the pan. Close the pan again.
After 15 mins, put the boiled or steamed veg on to cook. Once cooked, make your gravy. Serve your roast.

No mixing, checking, boil overs, burning etc. You just bung the stuff in and leave it. And it's very cheap to run.

So - although I have mastered the pan bake, has anyone got any other recipes or techniques I can adapt and cadge for the Remoska?

And if anyone has any questions or is thinking of getting one, please feel free to ask.
