A "Thank You for the Recipes" thread

Two MN recipes have become household standards in this house:

  • Franny's muesli recipe
  • suzywong's courgette, mascarpone, pancetta and lemon (which probably isn't a recipe just something she made up to help me one day, but still, we eat it pretty often).

And tonight I tried Franny's sugar-free wholemeal banana cake. I was quite skeptical, which wasn't helped by the fact I had to wing the SR part of the wholemeal flour.

That being said, it's really tasty, and I'm very happy with it.

Ooh thank you all for the thank yous

(can I do smileys on here NQC? )

If I wasn't such a lazy cook I would actually cook some of the fantastic recipes I have seen on here instead of just writing them down.

That cake converts anyone who thinks wholemeal sugar free cake is going to be blah. I wish I could make it for HC but she doesn't like bananas. Did you try it with the no added sugar icing, NQC?

OOh can I have that recipe please Franny? I make Mrs Badgers, but would like a sugar free wholemeal one, would feel less guilty!

I regularly make Twiglett's muffins

Somebody's bonfire night bics (sorry can't remember whose they are)

Aha.

I thought I must have posted it during one of my ill advised name changes, but in fact I just spelt my own name wrong during the search

Yes, it was the obvious mis-spelling as well, in case you were wondering.

A neighbour has an apple cake with wholemeal flour, but no bananas. I have a lot of recipes for cakes which are reasonably worthy (carrot, pumpkin, courgette, whatever), but nothing quite as worthy as that one.

I am, of course, tempted to tinker with it now, though. What if you use oatmeal in place of some of the flour? And I'm tempted to add vanilla extract and/or (a tiny bit of) molassees.
