Halloween party food ideas

DS is a Halloween baby, we're having a party in the park and providing food (lunch). Age range of children from babies to 6/7yrs old. Halloween themed but preferably healthy to combat the immense amount of sugar later in the day and the piñata we're also providing as well as a massive cake

Probably be easily 20-30 children (plus grown ups but I'll get crudités, crisps and dips for them)

So far I've got:
Frankfurter "fingers"
Sliced apples put together with. Peanut butter with almonds for teeth
Black corn tortillas and grapes as bats

Stuck there! Or should I just be done with it and order tons of pizza?!

I have a ghost-shaped cutter...

Cheese on ghost
Ghost and jam
Pâté and Ghost

That's about it for me at Hallowe'en, though I do have to make jelly with gummy worms set in it every year Smile

Pumpkin rice balls - make an orange risotto (butternut squash - basic risotto, stir in mashed squash), keep it much more dry and sticky than you usually would. Shape into balls, green pepper sticks for stalks, aubergine skin for faces (easy, just cut little triangles out with scissors)

I like this eyeball pizza too - you could do mini ones?

Loads of great ideas if you go on Pinterest and type in Halloween. Jelly worms look great. Get a big bundle of straws and hold together with an elastic band or two. Stand in a mug/jug etc and Pour in jelly mixture, leave to set and run straws under warm water to loosen the jelly... Voila, a plateful of disgusting jelly worms! Confused

Green food colouring in philadelphia for sandwiches or dipping. Slime sandwiches... Mind you they can look a bit too disgusting!

We are having spider jelly. I have got black plastic spiders to put into orange jelly just before it sets. Never done it before so I hope it works.

Love the jelly worms ideas Halloween Smile

BTW, tinned lychees make good eyeballs.

Ok here's the plan - do you think it's enough variety?

Witches Fingers (mini sausages for meat eaters, cheese straws for veggies, made to look like fingers, obvs)

Pumpkin and ghost crisps (sweet potatoes and apples cut thinly, baked, faces cut out)

Pumpkin and eyeballs (pumpkin/beet root risotto made into little balls and decorated)

A pumpkin spewing out houmous and guacamole, into which blue corn tortilla crisps (bat wings) will be dipped

Sandwiches cut out with Halloween cookie cutters

Spiderweb boiled eggs

Sugar cookies which the kids can decorate themselves

Tangerines with pumpkin faces drawn on them

Mummy face mini pizzas - will it really matter if these are cold/lukewarm?!

Giant 3D pumpkin cake

Sounds amazing! Take pics. And pizza is better cold, all self respecting 5 year olds know this

Those ideas sound great! I might have a go at making some of those pumpkin and apple crisps myself.

I found these cute recipe cards as well if you need any more ideas.

All went down very well - included a bowl of brains for grown ups (beet root risotto) but the best but was undoubtedly the pumpkin pumpkin cake - easiest 3d cake in the world incidentally
