Basically would like to make a cold dessert or something that's nice in the hot weather.

milk jelly!

use half the amount of water it says on the jelly packet and make up the rest with milk. Especially good with raspberries in, but any fruit would work.

Great ideas, thanks so much. Think we will have quiche and milkshakes tomorrow when DS has an inset day and his friend comes round to play.

Hi Twigs and Sunny. Now to me rice pudding is cold weather food. Do you serve it cold? Actually it does sound much nicer than the hot gunk my mother used to serve up Smile. Is it like the tinned stuff? I like that.

We serve it cold here with a bit of whipped cream on the top--do you want an American recipe?
