what else can be done with it other than used in lasagne? or is it doomed to stay in the cupboard until I have enough money to shop and buy lasagne things?

surely it's just a standard white sauce...? If so you can heat it and add cheese and parma ham to it, for a sauce with chicken or muchrooms and fried garlic for a pasta sauce - the possibilities are pretty endless.

turn it into pasta carbonara?
Fry small chopped onion/maybe a couple of shallots with/withour garlic
Add a strips of bacon/pancetta cubes and fry until a little crispy
Meanwhile cook your pasta
When the pasta is nearly ready, pour the jar over your onion/bacon mix into a pan, stir and heat gently. Add a little lemon juice if you like. When heated through thoroughly, tip into your drained pasta and stir through.
Grate some cheese for the top if you like.

Use it to make cauliflower cheese - boil your cauliflower until tender. Pop the florets into the bottom of a lasagne dish - could do a mix with broccoli if you like. I also add some boiled egg halves (don’t know why - my mum did it so I still do!) Top with the lasagne white sauce. Grate some cheese on the top. Pop in the oven for 30 mins on medium heat - until golden on top.

Macaroni cheese? Mixed with loads of tuna, lemon juice and mushrooms - use as topping for jacket potatos?

A spin on fish pie? - white fish, sauce, mash potatos on the top?
