I have baked three times in two days thanks to this amazing product - total convert.

and others who have tasted the things I've baked have been converted too!

all because it was on special offer Grin

I never make my own pastry. Life is too short to knead.

I've used the puff pastry thus far. pizza pasties and cheese and onion rolls. i used the time I saved to make a batch of scones.

:) The Sainsbo's ready rolled fresh stuff is excellent too. The puff pastry is brilliant for making tarts topped with whatever you fancy - they look and taste fantastic for virtually no effort. What are pizza pasties?

Another vote for the sainsburys own brand too.

Tarte tatin - both sweet and savory - easy yet impressive with ready rolled puff

my son loves them but they're just pastry spread with pizza sauce and filled with his favourite pizza toppings and cheese then folded and baked in the usual way.

he prefers it with flaky pastry - he finds puff pastry too flaky!

Thanks Helles - the very idea makes me shudder (pizza sauce - blurgh!) but the dds would like them, and I suppose I could always be a snob and use red pesto instead!

Flaky pastry rolled out. Spread pesto on top then cubes of mozzarella, bake in oven for 20 mins or so. Or pesto and olives, feta nice too. Walnuts and blue cheese also good.

Ooh how do you do your veggie sausage rolls? I usually just buy Linda M's!

I use a jar of bruschetta mix (I was given one for Christmas, and found it locally since - great shortcut!!) on top of puff pastry, and a bag of mini mozarella balls (torn in half) scattered over the top to make a nice tart for some nights the au pair (veggie) is eating with us. Throw a handful of rocket (dressed in balsamic vinegar and olive oil if feeling really poncy) on top and it is quite delish!!

I mostly used to use the frozen slab and roll it myself - now I usually keep a frozen for emergencies, but use fresh slab or ready rolled, and they are great.

Jus rol also do the croissants in a tin (have always had those as treats since we were small). But now also do Pain au chocolat in a tin and do a pizza kit that is 2 pizza bases (2 tins) with a jar of pizza sauce for easy pizza night (just need cheese and toppings, and DD likes margarita so no toppings needed some nights).

I have a sheet of puff pastry and some boned chicken thighs. Any thoughts on how long i would need to cook a chicken thigh smothered in pesto then wrapped in the pastry?
